The Gist

New observations find that the Moon has more metal than previously thought.

The List

  • Astronomers have found that the craters consist of more metals than the surface of the Moon.
  • In some instances, lunar rocks have higher concentrations of iron or titanium than on Earth.
  • The discovery should encourage to reevaluate the hypothesis of how the Moon was formed.
