Scientists have discovered unexpected structures near the core of the Earth.
- An unusually dense and extremely hot rock structure has been detected by researchers in University of Maryland.
- The structure is around 3,000 kilometers below the Pacific Ocean, near the core-mantle boundary.
- Structures have been discovered by using a machine learning algorithm "Sequencer" to analyze the recordings of seismic waves of the past 30 years.
