The Gist

The retail giant has cited a possible spike in civil unrest as the US election approaches.

The List

  • Though they may no longer be visible on the store floor, customers will still be able to purchase firearms and ammunition.
  • Social tensions are high as the 2020 election approaches, with both Democrat and Republic voters fearing a contested election.
  • Thousands of stores across the United States have been looted and/or destroyed since mass riots began following the death of George Floyd in May.
  • In anticipation of further violence, stores across the United States are taking measures in anticipation of the social strife on and after November 3rd.
